Nirvana New Indian is a quick-service restaurant in Sydney’s CBD that combines authentic flavours with a contemporary twist. They were looking to break people’s preconceptions of Indian food and make it more appealing to busy office workers.

idea

Our inspiration was a combination of Indian truck lettering, the lotus flower (the national flower of India) and the vibrant Hindu festival of colours, Holi. We brought an illustrator on board to help realise our vision of a colourful, contemporary Indian mural.

a vibrant, appetising edge for indian take-away

The end result was a modern brand with an authentic, appetising edge—a ‘New Indian’ approach to take-away food. The tagline, branding and identity was applied across all packaging, menus, signage, uniforms and social media. The new branding showcased the restaurant’s traditional food, while appealing to a modern audience.
