Children involved in Family Court matters often feel intimidated and hesitant to speak openly with family experts, struggling to understand the complex legal process. To address this critical issue, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFOA) partnered with Messy.
Our strategy was to bridge this gap by connecting with children on their level, in their language. We produced two short animated videos featuring fun, relatable characters that distilled complex information into simple, easy-to-remember messages. We also designed a dedicated microsite to support the initiative, a central hub offering kid-friendly resources, practical advice, and essential information.
Quantitative and qualitative testing, including workshops with Family Court experts and children in the target age group, ensured the approach was age-appropriate and effective in communicating the information.
